This is the ninety-sixth chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.
Summary[]
Marin is at Wakana's house to have her make-up and costume ready for the Winter Comiket later. Before they get started, Wakana opens up to Marin about his real intention on why he wanted to make the Haniel costume. He says that when he first saw Haniel, he immediately thought that he wanted to make the outfit so he could see it in person, despite not even knowing what the story was about. He says that he felt the same way as when he saw a hina doll for the first time. However, unlike then, Haniel stole his heart; he felt so overwhelmed and realized that this is how it is to move someone's heart with one's creation.
He admits that this is his selfish desire and that the only way to bring Haniel into this world is through Marin's help. Wakana says that he's seen Marin breathe life into all the characters she's ever cosplayed. He adds that if she lends him her help, she can help fulfill his selfish desires.
Marin asks how he wants her to act in cosplay. Wakana describes how he sees Haniel. He says that to cosplay the archangel, she has to put on an emotionless smile to show the viewer that she doesn't love them, but at the same time, she should look enchanting enough that people will still fall in love with her regardless.
Marin gets confused by the seemingly contradictory description Wakana tells her and begins to doubt if she can pull it off. However, Wakana encourages her, saying that she'll be fine because she's Marin Kitagawa. Wakana starts working on her make-up, having in mind what his grandfather said about making people fall in love at first sight with their creation.
After much preparation, Wakana and Marin head over to the Winter Comiket, with Marin in full Haniel make-up and costume. Everyone who sees her is captivated by the archangel before them.
