This is the eighty-eighth chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.
Summary[]
At school, Wakana shows his design sketches of the Haniel costume to Marin. When Marin says that she didn't find any problems with the design, Wakana tells her that he's going to buy the materials today. Wakana then informs Marin that he will be meeting up with Akira later so she can hand him the materials that he needs for sculpting. Ask Wakana drones on about the details of the costume, Marin notices that Wakana is too pumped up about the costume that he's tuning her out. She realizes that isn't the right time for her to confess her feelings for him.
Marin overhears her schoolmates talking about their plans for Christmas Eve. She figures that Christmas Eve would be the right time for her to confess, rather than any other random day. She asks Wakana if he has plans on the 24th of December. He tells her that he's just going to stay home and make the costume. Marin invites herself over for dinner and Wakana immediately tells her that it's fine. Marin becomes giddy at how Wakana didn't hesitate to spend Christmas with her.
After school, Shiki and Takeru see Wakana standing outside school. They invite him to eat somewhere. He tells them that he's actually waiting for someone but that he'll come along right after. They offer to wait with him.
A moment later, Akira arrives and greets Wakana. After some greetings, Wakana introduces Akira to his friends. Shiki instantly develops a crush on Akira and introduces himself and asks her questions enthusiastically. Unfortunately, Akira immediately shuts him down.
Akira and Wakana then continue to talk about how Akira plans on taking the stuff she brought straight to Wakana's place. She asks about Wakana's grandfather and cousin and to tell them thanks for last time. Shiki and Takeru overhears everything and wonder how close they are. Wakana explains that they made cosplay props together.
While Akira is talking, Marin peeks from a street post and smiles at Akira. Akira immediately breaks down and becomes overwhelmed by the attention from Marin. Shiki, who is watch in the sidelines, realizes that he has no chance with Akira because she is obsessed with Marin.
Later, Marin, Wakana, Shiki, and Takeru all go to a burger joint to eat. Marin orders a burger and tells them how hard it is for her to eat. Wakana reckons it's because she has a small mouth. Shiki observes her eating and sees that she's a sloppy eater. Shiki angrily wonders out loud what's so great about Marin, which makes her think that he's picking a fight with her.
