This is the eighth and final chapter of the tenth volume and the seventy-ninth chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.
Summary[]
Suzuka, Miyako, and Sajuna are at a studio and Sajuna is surprised when she was told that she would be cosplaying as Black Lobelia.
In a flashback during the recent afterparty, Marin was telling the group about her Rei-sama cosplay. She was telling them about the shapewear she wore which was different from what Shinju used for her Soma cosplay. Shinju showed the older cosplayers a picture of her as Soma and they both gushed at how awesome it was.
Miyako asked Shinju if Sajuna ever cosplayed as anyone else other than Magical Girls. Shinju told them that Sajuna always wanted to cosplay as Black Lobelia, but she was worried that she was too short to make it work. She knew that her sister would be able to pull it off, but she's worried she might not be able to convince her sister to try. Miyako assured her that the things that Sajuna was worried about were things she would be able to find a way around.
They started to plan for Sajuna's surprise cosplay. They readied the costume she would be wearing, the wig, contacts and the studio. Shinju was still doubtful if her sister would cosplay for them despite their preparations, so Suzuka proposed that they take Sajuna to the studio using the "weekend location hunting" excuse and then surprise her with the costume and other preparations on site. After ironing out a few of the details, it was also decided that Marin would be cosplaying as Sakuya and Shinju as Soma, both characters from Blaze.
Back in the present, Sajuna declares that she never asked for a surprise cosplay and that it was wrong for them to assume that she would enjoy the surprise. She adds that because she loves Blaze and Black Lobelia, she is giving up on cosplaying the series ever again. Miyako shares what Shinju stated as her reason why she is refusing to cosplay as Black Lobelia. However, Miyako is able to infer that the real reason why she is refusing to do the cosplay is because she is worried about her chest and her face, and not her height. Miyako assures Sajuna that she can easily fix all of that for her. Suzuka chimes in and says that if she honestly wants to try cosplaying the character, she should do so rather than regret it later. Sajuna finally admits that Miyako was right as to the real reasons why she wouldn't even try to cosplay as Black Lobelia. Sajuna reluctantly agrees to go through with the cosplay and says that if she's not convinced, she will be leaving.
Miyako starts by giving Sajuna a silicon bra to give her chest a fuller look and give her some cleavage. She then starts on Sajuna's makeup, using tape to enlarge her eye's contours. Miyako tells Sajuna that cosplayers almost never have the same body type as the characters they want to cosplay as. When she was starting out, Miyako was depressed at first because she thought that she would never be able to look like her favorite character. However, through time, she was able to find ways to close those gaps. After ten years, she was able to come up with tricks which enabled her to look like her favorite character. And now, she will be using the same tricks to make Sajuna look like Black Lobelia.
A while later, Marin and Shinju arrive at the studio and walk into Sajuna fully dressed and made-up as Black Lobelia.
