This is the seventh chapter of the seventh volume and the fifty-fourth chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.
Summary[]
Marin is at the Gojo's eating dinner with Wakana and his grandfather. They tell Kaoru about their project for the school festival. He shares in making hina dolls, the work is divvied up, too. Wakana adds that the different parts of the doll may be made by different people. In their studio, they have ten people working on each hina doll. Wakana, himself, does the makeup of around 200 to 300 dolls per day. Kaoru adds that you'll hit the end of the rope fast if you try and do everything by yourself, so they need to learn how to lean on other people, too.
As Marin is walking home, she ponders on Kaoru's words and tries to think of a way to help lighten his load. The following day, she tells Wakana that she made him a bento lunch. He usually ate his lunch at the school and it takes a while, so it takes a while. She thought she could help him save some time by making his lunch so he can get more done on the costume.
In his mind, Wakana is nervous because Marin usually only makes fried rice which is usually greasy. Come lunch time, his heart is pounding. Marin hands him some Spam rice ball sandwiches. He smiles in relief and happily tells Marin that the thought of her handmade bento was making his heart pound. Marin sees his happy face and mistakes this to mean that his heart was giddy with the thought of her making him bento lunches. She is so happy that she made him lunch that she decides to make one for him tomorrow. Wakana thanks her and takes the rice ball and notices that they had a hefty weight to them.
The next day, Marin hands him some Spam rice balls again. The day after that, she gives him some fried chicken skewers, and the day after that, she made meat-wrapped rice balls on sticks which were very oily.
Later that night, Marin is once again at the Gojo's to eat dinner. Wakana cooks them some fish and vegetables, a lot different and healthier than the lunch he was eating in the past few days.
