This is the sixth chapter of the seventh volume and the fifty-third chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.
Summary[]
Marin makes a list of everything they need for the costume. A bit worried, Wakana asks Marin to call him if she had any questions, or to ask Usami for advice. They were going with Marin's plan of making the costume herself, but Wakana is having second thoughts seeing Marin nervous about the undertaking. He tells her that he'll make her a simple guide to work through it on her own, but he realizes that she couldn't even manage it with an easy-to-understand book when they first met.
Marin goes off and feeling anxious with what she's about to do, but she is also determined to win the pageant, so she resolves to give it everything she's got.
Wakana makes his way to the classroom to help with the festival preparations. He is in deep thought with how he can only work on the costume on the first day of the festival because he has to make sure he helps with the class work, so he doesn't cause trouble for the rest of the class.
He arrives at the classroom and everyone stops to look at him. They are all confused as to why there since he was going to make Marin's costume. Nowa realizes that Wakana is there because their homeroom teacher told the boys to help with the class stuff. Shiki tells him that nobody thinks that making the costume will be easy, and on top of that, he is short on time so doing class work on top of that will be rough. Wakana responds that he can make it work. However, Shiki tells him he needs to be honest with how he really feels. Takeru assures him that the rest of the class will handle the class work so he can take care of the costume.
The rest of the class tell him that they are no good on the sewing machine and if they try to help him with the costume, they'll end up just getting in the way. They emphasize that he is the only one who can make the costume.
Nowa asks Wakana where Marin is and Wakana tells her that she went out to go buy materials for the costume. The class immediately react in horror saying that she can't be trusted with such a task since she'll end up buying stuff that no one in their right mind would buy. They urge him to hurry up and go after her. Wakana calls Marin to ask where she is. Marin is still near the station, so Wakana rushes to meet her there since he's coming with her.
They arrive at the craft store and Usami is there to help them. They tell him about the suit they planned on making. Usami suggests that they use matte satin for the fabric since it has an air of luxury fitting for a host's suit. He also suggests that they use a skinny necktie which is a more glamorous and stylish accessory. He sees Wakana and Marin chat excitedly about the materials. He looks on and hopes that they end up with yet another excellent costume.
