This is the fourth chapter of the seventh volume and the fifty-first chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.
Summary[]
The class's homeroom teacher, Hanaoka, presides over her class to discuss what they will be doing for the school's annual cultural festival. They decide on running a Russian roulette takoyaki booth. They have two weeks to prepare, so they divide their work among themselves. Hanaoka explains that during the festival, classes will be ranked according to the number of customers they attract. The class erupts at the news of being ranked and immediately become competitive, which makes their homeroom teacher light up.
Hanaoka adds that the cultural festival will take place over two days, and that the main event on the second day will be a beauty pageant with the winner's class getting extra points. The class think of Marin as their contestant right away. Hanaoka continues to say that the contestants will be in drag, that is, girls will be dressed as boys, and boys will be dressed as girls. Hearing this, Marin exclaims excitedly at the prospect of crossplaying, and welcomes the challenge.
Marin tells her classmates that she plans on cosplaying as "Rei-sama" from The Student Council President is the No. 1 Host or "Prez-Host." The classroom is filled with excited chatter as Rei-sama is a popular character from an equally popular manga that was adopted to a TV show. When asked what scene she will be recreating, Marin says that she will definitely recreate Rei-sama and the bento scene. The bento scene, as her classmates describe, is one of the best scenes in the show which makes everyone weep.
After it is decided that Marin will be their contestant, Hanaoka tells her that she needs to prepare her costume and a pitch performance that she must perform before a student council member of the same sex and attempt to make them swoon. Marin gets hyped up and calls out to Wakana. Their other classmates are confused as to why she called out Wakana's name. Nowa explains that Wakana makes Marin's cosplay costumes. All eyes are on Wakana, and he gets nervous at the attention. Marin lets out a cry saying that they're going to be number one and her classmates also respond. Hanaoka tells them to settle down.
