This is the sixth chapter of the sixth volume and the forty-fifth chapter overall of the My Dress-Up Darling manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda.

Summary[]

Marin receives a message from Wakana asking her to come over his house the following day. She is surprised and gets excited because this was the first time Wakana asked her out.

The following day, Marin realizes that Wakana was not asking her out on a date, but wanted to show her an issue he encountered while making her Arisa costume. The bodysuit for the bunny-girl costume he made kept flopping down and couldn't hold its shape. In her mind, Marin cringes at the fact that she got so hyped thinking Wakana was asking her over for a date night.

Meanwhile, Wakana is fretting over how he is unable to figure out on his own how to keep the bodysuit up. Marin suggests using clear shoulder straps or using clips to hold the shape, but Wakana wanted to avoid using them because it would not be faithful to the source material. Seeing no other way, however, Marin suggests that they give the clear straps a try and tells Wakana that they should buy some now.

At the fabric store, Wakana runs into Usami. He shows him his bunny-girl costume sketch. Usami thinks that Wakana designed the costume for himself but realizes that he was mistaken when he sees Marin with him. Wakana tells him that they have come to buy transparent straps. Hearing this, Usami suggests another way to stabilize the bunny suit without using straps. He draws on Wakana's sketch and illustrates the use of "bones," which are like rigid ribs that give costumes some structure, like those used in corsets.

Wakana becomes disappointed in himself for being unable to think of using "bones" in the bodysuit when he had already made a corset for Marin's previous Black Lobelia costume. Usami shares that sometimes, once you form assumptions, they can act as blinders and makes you stop noticing things that you might have noticed before. Wakana beats himself up for having become arrogant and neglecting to research prior to designing the costume―something he always did previously. Usami comforts him by saying that making mistakes are part of the fun.

The two return to Wakana's house and he finishes the costume. Marin tries it on and as Wakana waits, he hears Marin say that there was a problem with it. He rushes into his room and sees Marin in the costume, but with her underwear visible underneath. Because the bodysuit was high-cut, her panties were sticking out. She asks for Wakana's opinion on her underwear situation since she didn't want to go commando in the costume. Wakana on the other hand, is extremely flustered at the sight of Marin and begs her not to open the door.
